Cars in Germany's Town Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Officers mentioned they were alerted by a man who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then discovered many other marked vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say early analysis suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to its source; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.

City officials said they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for information.

A senior representative stated the incident left him without words and required to be addressed quickly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
